Weber. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Kannier Sr. No plans have been made for the wedding. Miss Kannier is a' graduate of Salem High School and her fiance is a graduate of Sacred Heart Ac i ademy. The bride-to-be is now employed at the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. and Mr. Weber is with the Southern Pacific Co. A dessert supper was served and the names of the engaged duo were on the ices and napkins, re vealing the news to the guests. Mr. mad Mrs. Terry Randall. Cathy and Terry, and. Mr. and Mrs. Claybourne Dyer, Shannon and Clay, are leaving today for Long Beach, Wash, to go clam digging. McFarland, class B; end Mrs. Fred Ruiter, class C The Oak Knoll women golfers were represented at the hole-in one contest at Waters Park Wed nesday night by Mrs. Plank and Mrs. Huff. - tfpjrte Nuptials i: Unite Couple Saturday The South Cottage Street home of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis H. Jones was the scene of the marriage of their youngest daughter, Miss Barbara L. Jones, and Marshall A. Jacobs, son of Mrs. Harold -O. Swenby, on Saturday morning, August 2. Only members of the immediate family witnessed the exchange of vows. Dr. Brooks Moore officiated at the 11 o'colck rites. The im provised altar was banked with pink and white gladioluses. For her wedding the bride chose a pink silk shantung costume suit with white accessories. Her flowers were white carnations. The couple was unattended. A reception followed the ceremony. After a short wedding trip along the Oregon coast the newlyweds will be at home in Salem. Visitor Leaves for South Miss Deanna Winslow. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paris Winslow of San Diego, Calif., is in Salem vis iting her grandmother, Mrs. Wikje Winslow. They spent last weekend with the latter's daughter, Mrs. Adam Nickles, and family in Eu gene, wnue mere tney went on a fishing trip up the McKenzie River and celebrated the birth' day of Billy Nickles. Mrs. Wins low and Deanna spent this week end with Miss Renske Donker and the Donker Brothers at their farm in Aumsville. She left Tuesday morning for Eugene and from there' will continue on to San Diego. Many Compete in Bridge Tourney With 31 teams from Brownsville to Portland competing, the August master point tournament of the Salem Elks Duplicate Bridge Club was the largest yet held here. Top honors went to Mrs. Clyde Mount oi uregon City and Mrs. Stuart Thede. Mrs. Harold KHwnrrJ. Portland and Ellis H. Jones, Mrs. narry wieamar and Mrs. Arthur S. Binegar, and Mrs. Mary Roberts and C C. Van Vleet, both of Port land. Taking seconds were ' Mrs. George D. Henderson and Mrs. C C Gabriel and the following Port landers: Mrs. Stuart Wilson and Mrs. Lulu B. Horton, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wright, and Mrs. Clara Shaw and Mrs. Ethel Johnson. First places in the junior month ly playoff were won by Mrs. Sam Ramp and Ray Kemp, and Mrs. Donald Duncan and Mrs. Lloyd Jones, while seconds went to Mrs. Robert Burns and Mrs. F.
