Valley Obituaries John O. Hayes Aurora Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 14 at 2 p.m. (PST) from the Miller Fune ral Home for John G. Hayes was born at Cadillac, Mich., Sept. 14, 1902 and came to Oregon with his parents while still a boy. He had been a resident of the state since that time. For the past 16 years he was employed by Weyerhauser. On May 26, 1929 he was married at Vancouver, Wash., to Helen Hayes who sur vives. Also surviving are two daugh ters, Ellen Cole and Lillie Wilmes both of Aurora; sister Eunice Uhlan of La Crescenta, Calif.; also two grandchildren. Interment will be in Butteville cemetery. Wilbunina Clyde NArthur Bice, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bice of Grand Ronde, en tered the navy last June and had boot training in San Diego. He graduated from the Willamina high school, and is now stationed in Japan. Silverton George LeRoy Mc Colly, 19, of Silverton is in Mar ion County jail pending entry of plea in Silverton justice court to a charge of carrying a con cealed weapon. McColly was ar rested over the week end by Sil verton city police officers. E. Arn, former pastor of the local church, will be the speaker at the May 15 service. Rev. Bruce Yorke, youthful pastor-evangelist of Portland will be the guest speaker Thursday, May 22. Mrs. Joseph Doerfler, who has been at the Silverton Hospital for several weeks following an acci dent in which her hip was broken, is reported as slowly gaining strength.
