Disabled Girl Guest Emcee At Pen Show A 12-vear old from Portland who sang in a revue at the Oregon State Penitentiary recently will act as guest mistress of ceremonies for the prison's "Con Glomerations" show starting' next Friday. The girl, Edwina Holce, disabled since birth, made such a hit with the convicts when she sang for them that they tdok up a donation to finance her trip here for the show. The show features more than 60 convicts in a two-act musical comedy. It is being written, pro duced and directed entirely by convicts for the benefit of the Ore gon Heart Fund. Tickets are be ing sold at Stevens and Son, jewe lers, Salem, and the J. K. Gill box office, Portland. The seating capacity of the new dining room is 1,200 and when that number of tickets is sold there will be no more. Tickets not sold in advance will be placed on sale at box office outside the prison door. Seo the watch of today and tomorrow at Preliminary Plans Laid for K of C Conclave Preliminary plant for the 70th annual Oregon Knights of Colum bus convention in Salem in May were revealed Saturday by local committees. The convention will be held at the Catholic Center in North Sa lem May 23 to 25. About 1,500 del egates and visiting knights, their guests and families are expected. Salem council is host council. Jasper Kennedy of Eugene, state deputy, will call the convention to order at 3:30 p.m. on May 23. Reg istration win start at 10:30 o'clock that morning. Prominent men from the Knights of Columbus' council, state and national offices will be in attendance. Thomas Bagan of Salem is con vention chairman. Other officers include Roy Green, grand knight of the Salem council, and Lyle Dempewolf, co-chairman; Richard Schmidt and Al Cramer, registra tion; M. J. Raschko, banquet; Eu gene Schmidt, convention break fast; Joseph Mozena, John Nath man and Ed Tobin, social hours; Vernon Raschko, dance and enter tainment; John Gallagher, ladies' entretainment; A. Well Drillers Hold Meeting A plan to split the State into occupational districts was aired Saturday afternoon during the business meeting of the Oregon Well Drillers Association at the Marion Hotel. This split was suggested as a means of easier communication between drillers. It was proposed that such a division would pro vide more frequent meetings be tween groups of drillers. No de cision was reached but informa tion is to be provided in the Drillers bulletin.
