Deering, son of Mr. and Mrs. Har old Deering of Portland. A spring wedding is planned by the engag ed duo. A group of relatives and inti mate friends were present for the announcement party and as each guest arrived they were presented a Christmas card which told the engagement news. A buffet supper was served dur ing the evening and the table was covered with an ice blue cloth and centered with a miniature bride and groom under an altar with a background of gold and white Christmas tapers. Miss St. Clair is a graduate of Sajem High School and has been a student at Providence Hospital School of Nursing. Her fiance is a graduate of the University of Min nesota Medical School and is now an intern at Providence Hospital in Portland. He is a member of Phi Rho Sigma, medical fraternity. Day, and Corporal Clarence William Nelson, USAF, son of Captain and Mrs. Robey S. Ratcliffe of Sacramento, Calif. The Rev. John O'Callahan per formed the 10 o'clock nuptials. Gerald Neitling was the soloist and Mrs. Raymond Barton the or ganist. The bridal gown of white satin was fashioned redingote style over a net skirt with a strapless bodice of satin. The redingote was made with a mandarin collar, satin buttons to the waistline and long sleeves. The full skirt termi nated in a ' train. Her imported French illusion veil cascaded from a satin half hat adorned with rows of illusion entwined with tiny seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of gardenias, bouvardia and stephanotis. Mrs. Howard E. Hicks was her sister's matron of honor and wore a red net redingote with short sleeves and silver trim over a strapless white moire taffeta gown. Miss Dolores Brunkal, the bridesmaid, wore a green net red ingote over white moire taffeta. They both wore silver,, half hats to match their dresses and car ried white and red Doinsettias re spectively tied with contrasting ribbon. Attend the Groom John Godlove stood with the groom as best man and Anthony Davey was the groomsman. Ushers were Phil Day, Raymond Dvorak and James Lancaster. For her daughter's nuptials Mrs. Day chose a grey silk gown with grey and burgundy accessories. Mrs. Ratcliffe wore a taupe moire gown with beige and brown acces sories. Their corsages were of red carnations. A reception followed at the Salem Woman's club. Pouring were Mrs. Gene Shaw, Mrs. J. Mrs. LeRoy J. Stewart: and the flag bearer. Gail Jones." Sundin announced their en gagement at a family gathering on Christmas eve at the Fairmount Hill home of the bride-elect's un cle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Von Eschen. Christmas cards with little angels and the names of the couple revealed the betrothal. Miss Savage is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Savage and her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Sundin. No date has been set for the wedding. The bride-to-be is a senior at Salem High School. Mr. Sundin is a graduate of Salem High School and is employed at the Salem Golf Club.
