Dog Plays Piano for Meals 86 Mothers Attend Club at Salem Heights Statesman News Service SALEM HEIGHTS Eiehtv- six mothers attended the Salem Heights Mothers club meeting Tuesday at the Salem Heights Community hall. The group voted to have a shoe fund, discussed a public address system for the school, and voted to Hold a rummage and cooked food sale January 26 and 27. Mrs. Gardner Jeffery Is chairman for the cooked food sale and Mrs. Roy McElroy chairman of tht rum mage sale. Mrs. Marion Miller spoke on the ceremic classes and the course in child guidance. Captain Walter Lansing of the secretary of state's office and Mr. Crandall of the traffic engineer division spoke on traffic problems. Mrs. Agnes maimer was in charge of the program. A group of fifth and sixth grade students sang and Francile Shumake was featured in a solo. Telling stories of how Christmas carols were written were Douglas Nohlgren, SWEET HOME. He al ways liked to raise chickens, and concentrated especially on this project. Learning' the newest methods and practices for poultry and egg production enabled Homer to raise a flock of 915 White Leghorns and Rhode Island Reds. He has been very success ful in disease control, keeping it to a minimum. Homer has won stfmmer scholarship awards at Oregon State College four con secutive years, and in 1950 was first in Poultry Judging.
