By Jack Hewins SEATTLE, Jan. 20-UP-Free wheeling Frank Guisness cascaded 27 points tonight in leading the University of Washington Huskies to a 69-49 basketball victory over the University of Oregon Webfoots. A crowd of 11,000 high for the season saw the Northern division leading Huskies overpower Oregon all the way. The halfume count was 37-23 in Washington's favor. After an opemng flurry in which the Webfoots swapped the lead three times with Washington, the Huskies moved ahead at 7-8 at the end of four minutes. From there on they built the margin up stead ily until it hit 25 points near the end ol tne tussle. It must have seemed to the often-befuddled Oregonlans that there were a half dozen guisnesses on the floor. The Vancouver, Wash, sophomore connected for 14 points in the first half. He was impartial, scoring both from midcourt and under the loop. Time and again he broke free to dribble in for his specialty shot: a leaping, under hand lay-in. He ran a string of nine free throws without a miss. The Webfoots could not work the ball through Washington's air tight defense for close tosses and many of their long shots rimmed the hoop and fell away. Will Urban led Oregon in scor ing with 13 points and Sophomore Center Jim Vranizan had 11. La Don Henson seconded Guisness on the Washington side with 11. Coach John Warren tried the two-platoon system in the first half but found nothing could stop the winning surge of the Huskies.
