Aircraft issues advanced frac tions to more than a point, with most of the buying centered in the last few minutes of trading. The balance of the market was hit by a selling gust from which lt never fully recovered. Losses ranged from fractions to around a point. Turnover of 1,070,000 shares, ex ceeded 1,000,000 shares for the twelfth session running and com pared with 1,020,000 Monday. Selling appeared based mainly on the idea that the labor outlook is highly critical. Interest In stocks of aircraft producers was linked with recent disclosure of an atomic exlosion In Russia. Traders evidently came to the conclusion a little belatedly that aircraft orders by the govern ment may be stepped up. Rumors circulated, too, that efforts are be ing made to restore the 70-group air force bill in congress. The Associated Press average of 60 stocks declined .5 of one point to 64.9. The industrial group was weakest, followed by rails and uti lities. A total of 1,011 individual is sues changed hands, of which 616 were marked down and 170 ad vanced. New highs for the year were established by 12 issues and new lows by 5. Salem Obituaries WALKER Davton C. Walker, late resident of 395 N. 20th st.. at Portland. septemDer 24.
