Walsh, division en gineer, said the apparent low bid among five of fered was by Molon ey Electric Co., St. Louis, Mo, at $85700. The highest was over a million dollars. I Parker Schram Co, Portland, was low at $417,802.65 among nine bidders for construction of levees on the Yakima and Columbia rivers to protect an urban , area near Richland, Wash, from water levels created by the McNary dam lake. The government estimate was $425,743.19. Grain Futures Mixed Under Mart Pressure CHICAGO," Aug! 2 -(4V Wheat and corn, futures were mixed to day, with the market under pres sure most of the session. Lard and soybeans made a strong start but later fell under profit taking. Oats were firm most of the time. v 1 Some wheat selling was caused by genera trade disappointment over the government wheat sub sidy rates, announced yesterday, and also because the subsidies ap parently attracted no immediate business. , Wheat ended Vt lower to Va nigner, corn was ;. vt aown w up.i oats were -v higher to H lower, rye was off IV4 to 2, soy beans were to 1 lower, and lard was 13 cents a hundred pounds higher to 5 cents lower. The first wheat subsidies an nounced yesterday afternoon were 22 cents a bushel for export from the; east coast, 34 cents from' the west coast, and 28 cents from the - gulf.
