Silverton Masons Visit Beaverton SILVERTON Fifteen members of Silverton Masonic lodge jour neyed to Beaverton Thursday to deliver the traveling gavel to that lodge. It had been presented to the local lodge by the Champoeg lodge of Canby the week before. The traveling gavel was started by the late Governor Earl S. Wickersham landed his prize salmon in the Rogue river a week ago. He V-k it on a No. 5 Bear Valley, half-and-half -spinner at the' mouth of Kimball creek, fen miles above the mouth of the Rogue on the South ern Oregon coast. Another Rogue-caught salmon was second. This was a 45-pound, 5ouncer taken by Tallant Green ough, of Coquille, Ore. NEW AGENT NAMED INDEPENDENCE Albert Koch of Monmouth took over the duties at agent at the Valley and Siletz railroad depot here last week. Koch, who has been assistant for the past 18 months, replaced Jack Barton, who resigned to accept a position with the Arden Ice Cream company in Salem.
