Society Editor Easter day will be marked with family gatherings and dinner parties, with early morning break lasts and the traditional Easter egg hunts lor the children. Families will attend the various morning church services throughout the city with dinners aijd blossom day rides to follow in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Powell will be hosts for theirannual Easter egg hunt this morning at their Mis sion street home, "Deepwood." Two Breakfasts Slated A group of young maids and matrons wili gained for their annual Easter breakfast this morning at the Marion hotel. Families Gather for Dinner Mrs. J. J. Nunn is entertaining with a family gathering today at her North 19th street home. Her daughter, Mrs. Peter Newell, arrived in the capital Saturday morning from Oakland, Calif., to spend Easter with her mother. She will return south Monds-y night. Other guests at the Nunn home today for dinner will be her other daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McGilvra and children, Joanne and Paul, of Forest Grove, B. M. Durland, brother of Mrs. Nunn, and his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Culp and son, Michael, of LaGrande. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Spaulding will be hosts for a family dinner today at their Fairmount Hill home. Panhellenic Luncheon . . City Panhellenic will entertain with a buffet luncheon at the Le gion club Friday afternoon, April 22 at 12:30 o'clock. This will be the first open, meeting of the new ly organized group and all frater nity women in the city are invited to attend. Anyone not contacted max call Mrs. Clark Brown or Mrs. William E. Healy, co-chairmen, for reservations. . Mrs. G. Herbert Smith, presi dent of the City Panhellenic, will preside at the luncheon meeting. The guest speaker will be Mrs. John Dundore of Portland. Event of Friday night, April 22 will be the formal banquet at the Pi Beta Phi chapter house on the Willamette university campus to commemorate the 82nd anniver sary of the founding of the frater nity on April 28, 1887 at Mon mouth college, Illinois. The six o'clock banquet is for mal and Geri Bowles will be the toastmistress. Over a hundred are expected to attend. Guest speak er will be Dr. G. Herbert Smith, president of Willamette university and national ' president of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. All alumnae in the city and members of the active chapter will attend the banquet and al umnae are in charge of arrange ments with Mrs. G. Herbert Smith as chairman. Anderson. A Workshop . . . First panhellenic workshop on the Willamette uni-ersity campus will be held Saturday. April 23 with Mrs. C. R. Nelson, panhellen ic adviser, in charge. The opening session will be at 10 a. m. in the gymnasium with Dan W. Poling, dean of men, Oregon State college, giving the address. Panel discus sions will follow at 10:30 a. m. with Pat Howard, Geri Bowles, Carol Dimond. LaVern Showacy. Mrs. Vernon Gilmore and Mrs. Marion Mulkey. the leaders. Highlight of the day will be the awards luncheon at 12:30 p. m. at Lausanne hall dining room. President G. Herbert Smith of Willamette university will be the main speaker. Dean of women, Mrs. Regina Ewalt, will make the scholarship announcement and Mrs. C. R. Nelson, panhellenic advisor, will give the recognition awards. Miss Dona Adams, past president of Willamette panhellen nic, will be master of ceremonies. A number, of visitors are in the capital for the Easter weekend to spend the day with their families and others are out-of-town to be with rel atives. Miss Mary Lou McKay and her fiance, Lester Green, are home from Oregon State college and University of Oregon respectively, to spend Easter at the home of her parents, Governor and Mrs. Douglas McKay. Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd W. Shepard are their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George C. Alexander, and son, Robert Shepard, of Eugene, the latter two students at the University of Ore gon, and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Macaulay of Portland. Miss Margie Smith will be hostess for an Easter luncheon on Monday afternoon at one o'clock at the South Winter street home of her parents, Dr. and Mrs. G. Herbert Smith. A group of Salem high school seniors have been bidden to the affair. Guests will be seated at individual tables with spring bouquets for centerpieces.
