Sailing for Australia Mrs. William Bentson and her fourteen months old daughter. Su zanne, are leaving today from Vancouver, B. C, for her former home in Australia. With Mr. Bent son they motored north on Mon day, stopping in Seattle enrcute. The two will sail on the SS Aor angi, making stops in Hawaii. Fiji Islands, New Zealand, arriving in Sydney, Australia on February 14. and going by traiii to Brisbane, the home ot Mrs. Bentson s par ents. The travelers will return to the states the latter part of July. Mrs. Bentson's aunt will accompany them back and will travel for several months in the United States. This is Mrs. Bentson's first visit to Australia since arriving in the United States shortly after the close of the war. Headed for Mexico Mr. and Mrs. G. Frederick Chambers and Mr. and Mrs. Mer rill D. Ohling left by car Wednes day morning for Los Angeles, from where they will take a plane to Mexico City for a sojourn. In Mexico City they will stay at the newly built and already famous Del Prado hotel. The travelers will also spend ten days in Acapulco. Enroute home they will vacation in southern California and Ari zona. They expect to be away a month. Following the Sun Mrs. George Allen is entraining today for a month's visit in Los Angeles at the home of a friend, Mrs. Eleanor Iorns, who has often visited in Salem with Mrs. Allen. : Eight of Mrs. Allen's girlhood i friends plan to meet in Los An geles this month for a reunion, one coming from Chile, two from Kan sas City, one is flying west from Denver, two from Phoenix and one from Tucson. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huggins and son, Charles, are driving south Friday to Palm Springs, where Mrs. Huggins and her son will so journ for two months. Mr. Huggins , ovill return home in a week. Tri Y Groups Hold Sessions Mrs. Bjarne Erickson will be advisor for the Grace Elliott chap ter of Tri-Y to fill the vacancy left by Miss M,ary Louise Burke. Another new advisor is Mrs. Rus sell Renner who takes the place of Mrs. Ray Sfma. She will be in charge of the Winnifred Heard chapter of Tri-Y. Mrs. Robert R. Burger, younger girls' program director of the Sa lem YWCA. spoke at the monthly Tri-Y assembly held at Salem high school Wednesday, January 19. She told of the organization of the YWCA and how the junior members fit into the YW pro gram. She also told of the na tional YWCA convention to be held in San Francisco March 7-14. The Tri-Y members plan to send one delegate. Those on the selec tive ballot as convention nominees are: Dorothy Pearce, Barbara Spa gle. Helen Wilt. LaVurne Ganr mon and Deloi is Cator.
