By Jerym English, Society Editor Anticipation and planning the festival meal is half the fun of Thanksgiving for women who like to cook family dinners. In the oval is Sally McLellan, daughter of the Daniel M cLellans, who will be home for her first Thanksgiving in several years. She returned in October from two years service in Germany with the Red Cross. Here Sally is con templating which of her favorite recipes she will select for the family dinner. Selecting the turkey is one of the more important duties of the housewife for Thanksgiving. Mrs. A. W. Holiday Travelers and Visitors There will be many of the college folk home for the Thanksgiving weekend. The holiday will also find a number f families away: to be with other relatives. V Mr. and Mrs.. Herbert Winkler are leaving this mornfn g for San Francisco to spend the Thanksgiving holiday, They plan to be away a week. Dr. and Mrs. B. F. Williams will leave Wednesday for Weiser and Boise, Idaho and Ontario to be with members of her family for Thanksgiving. Their nephew, Tom Joseph, a Willamette university student, will accompany them to Ontario. Twenty-five of Mrs. Williams' family will gather for Thanksgiving dinner at the Weiser home of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. M Joseph. Dr. and Mrs. David Bennett Hill and grandson, Vernon Pomeroy Hill, will entrain Tuesday night for San Leandro, Calif., to spend Thanksgiving with the Hill's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Howland E. Lake. They will return c next Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. V. E. Kuhn and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Knox are driving south Wednesday to Grants Pass to spend Thanksgiving. The Kuhns will be with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Paulus, and Mr. and Mrs. Knox will spend the holiday weekend with his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Tompkins and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neilson. Robert L. Elfstrom, jr., is expected to arrive in the capital this weekend to spend the holiday week with his parents, Mayor and Mrs. Robert L. Elfstrom. He Just completed his army air corps basic training at Lackland Field, San An tonio, Texas. Flying home from Seattle Wednesday night for the Thanksgiving weekend will be Bob Shepard, son of the Floyd W. ' ', Ehepards, a freshman at the University of Washington, and Marjorie Becke, daughter of the Karl Beckes, who is at tending Annie Wright Seminary at Tacoma. " . ' s e: . - ... ' 4 J !
