SOCI ETY H CLUBS Guests Are Surprised By Visitor Mrs. Robert C. Cannon invited group of her friends to a party at her Morningside home Tues day night Surprising the group was Mrs. Meredith Huggins of Hollister, Calif, formery of Sa lem, who had just come north by plane with her daughter, Jean, for a visit in the capital with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Doo little. Mr. Huggins plans to join his family here and return south with them in several weeks. Cards were in play during the evening with a late supper fol lowing. Bouquets of garden flow ers provided the decorative note. Guests of Mrs. Cannon were Mrs. Huggins, Mrs. Joseph M. Credit Women Hear Dr. Voigt Twenty-eight members of the Credit Women's Breakfast club met Tuesday morning for the reg ular program meeting presided over by Mrs. Loma Lucas, presi dent. Mrs. Lucas introduced Dr. F. D. Voigt, who displayed his hobby collection of agates, figur ines and hand carving. Miss Anne Anderson and Mrs. Opal Gettman were appointed captains of the Christmas card contest-Miss Etta Sutter and Mrs. Margaret Ringo won special prizes. No-host picnic is scheduled for August, 3 at the Dallas park for families, and guests of club mem bers. Transportation will be pro vided by members at 6 p.m. at Chemeketa and Liberty streets. Jane, Anne and Michael, chil dren of the Allison Fromans, re turned home after a month , at Gearhart spent with' their grand mother, Mrs. M. J. Taylor. Chastain, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Chas tain, and Wayne G. Halseth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Halseth, were, married on July 11 in the Carried Room of the First Meth odist fchurch with Dr.- Norman Huffman officiating.
