Alcuin Heibel, OSB, has been added to the faculty of Mt Angel women's college beginning Monday, first of the second semester. Added to tho high school faculty is Miss Pamela Noel, formerly of Vic toria, B. C, who has taught in Nova Scotia, Alberta and British Columbia and in Long Island, N.Y. Ori Sunday the academy will give its annual recital at 2 o'clock. Playing on the program will bo Stella Dummer, harpist; Ida Buc holtx, Sally Doherty, Charlotte Hackett, Rita Wolf, Patricia Brandt, pianists; Lucy Van Cleef, vocalist, accompanied by Ann Van ; Cleef. A string ensemble, vocal and Gregorian choir and the Aerolians will bo featured. The academy's four mission elubs, who pledge small amounts weekly, contributed $193.22 last school period. This will bo sent to missionaries in the Philippines, China and India. Officers of each of the four dubs are: Seniors, Normal Os wald, San Francisco, and Pat Btahi, Mt. Angel; Juniors, La Vonne Frey and Bemadette Hauth of Mt. Angel; sophomores. Mary Loui Sthamen, Silverton, and Joyce Susee, Mt. Angel; freshmen, Marlene Frank, Sublimity, and Flora Fennimore, Mt. AngeL Practice Teachers Field Widened MONMOUTH, Oregon College of Education Students will do arf of their supervised teaching Other cities, according to Dr. Jienry M. Gunn, president of OC. At present the Monmouth and Independence training schools are being used to capacity, so other cities were asked to par ticipate in the teacher training frogram. The school boards of Ortland, Salem, Corvallis and Eugene have taken action to par ticipate in this program. : Students sent to these schools to get experience in teaching will first be required to complete two Teaxs of college training. In addi tion, they must do one term of supervised teaching in one of the college training schools and re ceive the recommendation of the Supervisor for teaching in one of the city schools taking part in the teacher training program. They will not be sent as students but as assistants to the teacher. They will assume the same re tponsibilities ' as the classroom teacher such as lunchroom and playground duties. However, the Students will not receive any Compensation. : Currently, two students are teaching under this program in the Eugene city schools. They are Mina C. Zebley of Eugene and Jo Anne Sappenfield of Portland. Hubbard Women Plan Benefit Tea Wednesday HUBBARD A benefit tea for the Children's Farm Home at Cor Vallis, will be given Wednesday, February 4 at 2 p.m. by the Hub bard Woman's club t Pythian ball. Motion pictures of the home will be shown. Hubbard Parent-Teachers asso ciation will meet Monday, Febru ary 2 at the gymnasium. Founders 4ay will be featured. Mrs. Ben Miller is program chairman. Fedje of Salem, district super intendent of the Methodist church, sent word here today that help from the church board of Indian affairs and the board of missions Was being sought for restoration of the Siletz church. Pastor here Is the Rev. James Wilson, who Is also in charge of the church at Toledo. The Siletz church burned last Sunday after morning services. An overheated stove was blamed. An $800 rennovatlng program recently had been completed in the build ing.
