All ships at sea south of Hawaii were alerted again yesterday to be on the lookout for the intrepid New Zealander, Ronald Johnson, trying to sail his war-surplus craft to Tahiti. More than a month ago John son bought the vessel from the navy here and set out for Tahiti, towed by the subchaser Taurua. But the heavy seas forced the Tau rua to cut Johnsons subchaser adrift, 200 miles south oi Hawaii. He remained aboard; he had his vessel stocked with food and water and said at the time he intended to sail her to Tahiti alone. The navy's Hawaiian sea fron tier command issued the new alert today, for there has been no word from Johnson since the Aurua left him. j KOIN 971. KG W C2I.
