Jan. 23.-6J?r-Heavy profit cashing toward the cloe of today's board of trade session cut into the day's advance but all de liveries with the exception of Sep tember corn finished fractionally to ll cent above the previous close. Shortly after the opening wheat advanced on reports of winter kill in France. Other grains followed wheat until profit cashing started in the last half hour and wheat closed s to m higher than the prev ious finish. March $2.10-2.09i. Stocks Take Recovery Path NEW YORK. Jan. 28 -Yi-Ths stock market got another leg up on recovery today despite consid erable quick profit taking follow ing Monday's late rally. Selected stecU. rails, motors and pivotal industrials pushed uo frac tions to around 3 points after fore noon irregularity. Despite occas ional slowdowns, dealings expand ed to 1.080.000 shares, compared with 900,000 the day before and were the best since Jan. 13. The Associated Press 60 -stocks composite was up .6 of a point at 66.4. duplicating its advance of the preceding session. The market was the broadest since Jan. 16. Of 865 issues registering, one more than Monday. 560 rose and 210 fell. U. S. Steel retained a gain -of 7 .t-t. ni. aftpr the, close, directors declared the usual $1 dividend and reported net of $2.S6 a share for the December quarter against $3.11 in the Seotember 1945 months.
