Luncheon Fetes Young Matron Mrs. Wilmer C. Page, was a luncheon hostess Wednesday af ternoon at her Chemeketa street home in honor of her daughter-in-law. Mrs. Wilmer H. Page. Calif., to Frederick James Ausiey, of Boston. Mass., October 20 in San Francisco. The young couple will make their home in Boston, Mass. The Marrs family lived at Mill City for many years Mrs. Lynn MacLachlan left Sunday for Ontario to join Mr. MacLachlan. where they will make their home. Her daughters. Ilr. Robert DeVlieg of Portland and Miss Jane MacLachlan, who la attending Oregon State college, were hese for the weekend to say au ieoir to their mother. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Newman are spending the week in Seattle on a business and pleasure trip. They will be home Saturday to attend the OSC-Idaho game at Corvallis with the Richard Meyers. Ann Lynch to Be Married Friday SILVERTON Evenf of Friday night will be the marriage of Miss Ann Lynch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lynch, sr., to Carl A. Reed, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl D. Reed, all of Silver ton, at the Trinity Lutheran church at 8 !clock. The Rev. M. K. Fuhr will officiate and a re ception will follow in the church parlors. Miss Jane Lynch will be her sister's maid of honor and Miss Betty Lu Robbins will be brides maid. Robert Reed of Sheridan will be bis brothers best man and ushers are Clyde and How ard Reed and David Bartlet. The groom has been released from the air force after two and a half years, part of which time was spent in the South Pacific. Miss Lynch has been employed at the state industrial accident commission. The exe cutive board of the Salem branch, AAUW, will serve as hostess for the tea which will honor all new members of the branch. Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 o'clock. I Oi Missionary Group To Fete Mrs. Park The Women's Missionary society of the First Presbyterian church is sponsoring a tea in honor of Mrs.! Charles E. Park on Friday afternoon. November 8, at two church. Mrs. Park is the guest of o'clock, at the First Presbyterian the ! Willamette Presbyterial of which Mrs. . Ethan Collier is the president. Mrs. Park was born in taueng maij Slam, of Presbyterian miss ionary parents. She later returned to Siam and married Dr. Charles E. Park in 1913. The greater part of their service was spent in Yun nan China. Both Dr. Park and their eldest son died in Mosha, China. She was with the first group of foreigners forced out of Siam by the Burma route. She joined one of Dr. Seagrave's (Burma Sur geon) mobile surgical units for Chinese soldiers and fifteen days later was back in her own. station of Kiulungliang. She was bombed out f her home, and she then went to a leper village to live. Her young flier son, Jqhn, was wounded in combat in the late war, and her daughter. Wilms, was interned in Manila. She returned to the United States on furlough I last April. Co-ed Tells Betrothal Mr. and Mrs. H, M. Snoddy of Aumsville are announcing the en gagement of their daughter, Addie Lou, to David M. Holmes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Holmes of Portland. The bride-elect attended high school in Stayton and is a sopho more at Willamette university Mr. Holmes was a naval aviator dur ing the war. is a pre-med student in his Junior year at Willamette university and a- member of the Sigma Tau fraternity. No date has been set for the wedding. Fine Arts department of the Salem Woman's club win observe National Art week with a spe cial meeting of the committee this afternoon at the Elfstrom gal leries at 2 o'clock.
