I 8 The Statesman, Thursday Norember 7. ISil Deaconess Tea Friday The benefit tea sponsored by the Deaconess hospital auxiliary will b held in the social rooms of the hospital Friday afternoon. The general public is iuvrited to call between 2 and 4 JO. Mrs. A. W. Metzger is arranging the, tea table which will be centered with a bowl of yellow and bronze chrysanthemums with yellow ta per. The same flower in mixed colors will be used throughout the rooms. Music wilt be furn ished by Mrs. Sam Neufeldt on her vibra harp. A demonstration of the steam table, the present auxiliary project. Is planned. In line will be the officers of the auxiliary and the adminis tratfre officers. Mrs. A. 1L Wil son is general chairman tor the tea. . The regular meeting of the aux iliary, which was scheduled for Monday, has been postponed for a week due to the holiday. Mrs. W. H. Barber is the new presi dent of the organization. United Spanish War Veterans. Hal Hibbard camp and auxiliary, met Monday night at the Veter an's nail. Initiation was held for Mrs. W. W. Harder. Funds were donated for Christmas cheer to Veterans hospitals in Portland and Roseburg and to the general hos pital fund for bed lamps. Dozens of Oregon coeds will arrive in the capital late ' Friday with house guests and will go on to Portland for the game Saturday morning. Numerous sorority and fraternity dances will follow the game in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Maison and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hendricks will be among the rooters and will be the weekend house guests of for mer Salem residents, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Elliott. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kirk and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Jones will attend the game and in the eve ning wilt be guests at the Alpha Tau Omega dance at the Neigh bors of Woodcraft hall. . Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heltzel will be in Portland for the game and will remain for the weekend as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Warren, jr. Mrs. Taylor Hawkins 'will spend the weekend in Portland with her brother and family, the Robert Mc Murrays, and will accompany them to the game. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Ellis will motor to Portland for the grid iron classic and will join his par ents, Mr, and Mrs. William P. Ellis, who lives in Oswego. The groom, just recently out of the navy after three years service, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kindle of Winner, So. Dak.
