A break in cotton at New York also had a disturb ing influence on grain dealings. Cash corn was sharply lower for the second consecutive day, dropping 5 to 15 cents a bushel on various grades. Oats eased 1 to 2 cents a bushel despite ship ping sales to exporters totaling 400,000 bushels. Cash wheat was firm. Final prices on bread cereal futures were 1-24 lower, Jan uary $2.064! corn was unchanged to 1H Ipwer, Jaunary $1.391s-I4. and oats were down a cent to las, November 84 a-1. Some of the selling in wheat was believed to represent hedging. Dispatches from Washington said that flour was an item which probably would be decontrolled shortly in the general speed-up of removing ceilings. The NorthweMern Miller, a trade publication, said unfavor able flour ceilings were prevent ing mills from accepting a lib eral volume of inviwiries from the bakery trade. Family flour sales still are possible, the publication added. The Canadian wheat board ad vanced the export tax on oats a cent a bushel to 43 cents, effec tive tomorrow. Late Selling Drops Stocks NEW YORK, Oct. 15-CP)-Lat minute selling greased the way for a declining, stock market to day. Final , prices .were down fractions to around S points and more although a number of storks retained all or part of early gains. Profit cashing sales on th heels of Tuesday's sweeping ad vance kept shares under pressure Brokers said many customers also held the theory that the ad vance which followed the presi dent's decontrol order was merejjr an interruption to a basically lower trend, t Transfers totaled 1,650.000 shares against 2.360,000 Tuesday.
