Friday night at the First Congregational church. The altar was decorated with baskets of pink and white gladioluses and blue larkspur interspersed with white tapers. The pews were marked with clusters of flowers tied with white ribbon bows and the aisle was lighted with single white tapers in tall candlesticks. Light ; ing the tapers were Mrs. Lawrence , Feldschau and Mrs. Leighton Fair , ham, who wore mist blue nylon silk gowns, and carnation brace lets. It was at 8 o'clock that the Rev. John L. Knight officiated at the ceremony. I Of white marquisette was the bridal gown, fashioned with m fit ted bodice, high, rounded neck line and bishop sleeves. Panels of ! lace insertion enhanced the gown j on the bodice and on the full skirt ; which terminated in a train. A Unit .'seed pearl coronet held her train w ho length tulle veil in place. She car ried bouquet of gardenias and stephanotis centered with a white orchid. For travelling the bride chose a white dress with grey, lime and salmon print, white hat and ac cessories and white top coat. Mr. Anunsen and bis bride will be at home in Salem after August 1 at 1035, N. 16th street. Martin-Ridgeway Nuptials Read Miss Marie L. Ridgeway, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hansen of Orchard, Wash., was married to Victor L. Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Martin of Salem, on Thursday, July 11. at 3:30 o'clock at the parsonage of the Rev Kunzmtn in Vancouver, Wash. For the present the couple will live n Aumsville. The bride is a graduate of schools in Vancouver and her husband went to Salem schools. He served In the army for three years, 20 months of which was spent in Europe. Geveroer and Mrs. Earl Snell went to Portland Friday to be guests at the preliminary festivi ties for the premier of Emet Haycox's "Canyon Passage" to night at the Broadway theatre. Also in Portland tonight for the premier will be Pj-of. and Mrs. James C. Drury, ho will be guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Glatt of Woodburn. Visitors Are Guests in Capital With the summer travel season in full swing there is an influx of visitors in the capital these days. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Cross and sons, Curtis and Stewart of Chicago arrived in the capital Friday for a several weeks visit at the home. of his mother, Mrs. Curtis B. Cross. Also a guest at the Cross home is her granddaughter, Judith Pe ters of Lebanon, and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Pearson of Portland. Mr. and Mrs. William P. King also arrived : in Salem Friday by car for an extended visit at the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs Lloyd Riches. They drove west from Washington, D.C and were accompanied by Mr, and Mrs. Harold Riches, the former also a nephew of Lloyd Riches. The two men have recent ly been released from the army and arrived In time for the annual Riches family reunion at Silver ton Park on Sunday. The two couples will also visit at the George Riches home during their stay here. , Reports Given On Convention Two new members, Mrs. Edwin Wittenberg and Mrs. Eugene Pohl man were initiated into Meadow larg auxiliary No. 6102 of the Vet erans of Foreign Wars at a meeting at the hall Wednesday night under the direction of the president. Mrs. Richard Cutler. Mrs. William Weiprecht. delegate to the VFW encampment at Cor vallis gave a report of the meet-' ings. Other reports were made' by Mrs. Cutler, Mrs. Richard Chase. Mrs. Wilson Waring. Mrs. Robert Caton announced a special meeting on Wednesday, July 24, to initiate women eligible to be come members. Membership pins were presented by Mrs. Robert Norris, Jr., chaplain. Mrs. Wei precht was elected conductress and Mrs. Waring junior vice pres ident. Members were joined by Mead ow lark post following the meeting and refreshments were served. Recent Bride Is Honored Miss Dona Henderson was hostess-Monday night to a group of friends at her home on South 14th street honoring Mrs. Alfred Phelps (Arlene Odenborg) with a bridal shower. Credit Group If OPA had any friends In the luncheon group at the Salem Credit Association luncheon group Friday, they were silent. A round table discussion on "controlled and uncontrolled econ omy" was led by Charles E.
