April ft' The strongest demand, in many weeks pushed May rye' up - the 5-cent daily limit allowed by exchange regulations today to the highest price for the contract lit 26 yean. The delivery opened the ses sion with an advance of about a cent a bu-shel and kept an up ward climb throughotft .the day, hitting the $2.29 top in the final minutes of trading. The same delivery at Minne apolis and Winnipeg advanced the 5-cent limit in as much stride as passible with the cotton mar ket which soared to the highest levebs in 22 year. ; Oat price also scored their broadest gains in several weeks, on the . strength of the strong, steady rye demand. The most distant contracts were:p around l'-i to 2 cents, but Jilly stalled at about 1 cent ahead. April 6 The stock market today conclude! an other recovery week with thein- dustrial average hitting a 16-year high but with many rails, utili ties and assorted pivotal in low er ground. A bulge in mail orders, credit- i ed to reports of continued record sales in this field, attracted buy ers elsewhere.
