It has operated with reduced appropriation during the war but recently the highway commission moved to increase the funds available so that Oregon's tourist advantages could be publicized. Salem, Ore., has reported to the army ground and service forces redistribution sta tion here' for two weeks of rest and relaxation at this southern California city's famed resort hotels, now under army manage ment. 'k ' Kenneth Barnett Home on Furlough Visiting his mother, Mrs. Lu cille Barnett, is Kenneth Barnett, signalman third class in the naval reserve, who , came home Friday night to remain until November 6. Barnett has been in the armed guard service since his entry into the navy 37 months ago. His ship has just returned from a seven-month trip in the south Pacific waters.
