This is their first return to Salem since they left over three years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Kolb and their sons are temporarily located with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Doud, until they find liv ing accommodations. Bliss Louise Wrisley, daeg hter of Mr. and Mrs. G. M." Sliced tomatoes Baked halibut with Cucumbers Baked Danish squash Buttered carrots Fresh prune cake, r . nALIBUT BAKED WITH CUCUMBERS . 3 tablespoons ' butter i pounds halibut I1 salt ; . ;..-.- . cup water " 4 cup . evaporated 2 large cucumbers Melt butter in baking pans in baking pan, set fish in pan and sprinkle with salt, add water and milk. Pare cucumbers, cut In halves crosswise and then in quarters lengthwise. Colonel Gles, who his been In Europe for the past two years with the 9th air force,' returned to the states Jay plane and .called his wife on Sunday. He arrived in Portland Tuesday I morning. He will spend a few days here with his wife and 17 months old daughter, Martha, whom he had never seen, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C A. Gles, before leay lng; for Fort Lewis where he will report on Saturday. He will return to Salem next week for his leave. : . J Colonel Gles has been chief of staff of the 70th fighter wing.
