Kickoff time is clocked for 8 p jn. and the ' Sweetland ringsides are expected to bulge to capacity. The game itself Is indexed strictly as -'a tossup. The War riors, bossed ly Bud Page, do not come advertised as the same po tent pack which waded through seven-won, one-lost record a year ago. Ghezzi Enters Portland Open PORTLAND, Ore, Sept 2HJP) Vic Ghezzi, Atlantic City, NJ, former Professional Golfers as sociation champion, today added his name to stellar entries in the $14,333 ' Portland open which starts next Thursday. Ghezzi, Sgt Jim Ferrier of San Francis co and Ky Lafoon, Chicago vet eran, indicated they would come straight to Portland. They were unable to reach Spokane in time for the $10,000 Esmerelda open. 3. Athletes now in military ser vice will return to amateur and professional ranks in rapidly in creasing numbers. . No one in an official capacity would say definitely about the tour being off for the world se ries winner. Evidence was piling up, however, that the need for such a trip has greatly dimin ished. Recreational and entertainment programs will not be as urgently needed as they were when the tour was suggested. Baseball leaders have had the navy's in vitation under consideration' for weeks.
