Mills. Mrs. Melson Club Hostess Seventeen members were pres ent !at the Keizer sewing club held at Mrs. Roy Melson's home March 15. Those present were Mrs. Walter Lonsing, Mrs. Cam Richard, Mrs. J. E. Whitehead, Miss Ethel and Miss Alta Hall, Mrs. J. Xu Hill, Mrs. Ben Clag gett, Mrs. Paul Pierce, Mrs. El mer Ideen, Mrs. William Earle, Mrs. A. J. Flemming, Mrs. Ot to Yunker, Mrs. W. E. Savage, Mrs. Ruth Rulifson, Mrs. Ar thur Cumming, Mrs. A. L. Mason and Mrs. Roy Melson. Guests were Mrs. Gardner's mother, Mrs. Frances Huffman, and Mrs. Melson's daughter, Mrs. Ewald Franz and her two sons. A no host dinner was served. Next meeting will be April 5 at the home of Mrs. J. E. Whitehead. Mrs. Burcham Is Nominated Mrs. John Burcham, vice-pres ident of the Salem branch, Amer- lean Association of University 'Women, has been nominated j as 'vice-president of the state associ ation. Mrs. Burcham is a past : president and charter membeij of -the Lakeview branch of AAW. Other nominees are Mrs. Cj D. ' Winston of Corvallis, president; Mrs. Robert Shepard of Medford, secretary-treasurer, Mis. il : liam Henry Thomas of Portland is chairman of thetate nominal Ing committee. All votes must 15 and balloting Salem association Saturday. The local branch allowed 14 votes. Spiced cream TTJNA FISH SURPRISE! 1 cup sifted flour m ? teaspoons baking powder Vt teaspoon salt teaspoon curry 1 egg H cup milk 1 tablespoon melted shortening cup flaked tuna fish Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and curry. Beat and add milk and melted short ening.; Add to flour mixljure, stirring only until flour is moist ened.'! Into, four greased thi-ee- inch muffin cups put enough batter! to fill half of each tup. With: spoon, make hollows. center of muffins. Press jtwo tablespoons flaked tuna in each hollow. Cover tuna with maining muffin batter. Bake at 425 degrees 20 minutes. Serve with:'! -si ij Cream sauce cup butter or substitute cup flour 1 teaspoon salt Vt 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce : I - - 2 cups Bulk j . 1 tablespoon chopped parsley Melt butter. Remove from fire, add ; flour, salt and pepper and stir lo a smooth paste. .Re turn to fire, add Worcestersfiire sauce and milk and stir until mixture thickens. Add parsley and heat thoroughly.
