Wallace returned to the capital Monday after a , several days stay in Seattle. ,Mrs. Wallace went north to at .tend the initiation of her daugh ter, Miss Nancy .Wallace,, into .the Washington Alpha chapter, -Pi Beta Phi on the University ,cf Washington campus Sunday t afternoon. Miss Wallace's grand mother, Nancy Black Wallace, ...was one of the' founders of Pi -.Beta Phi and her mother was .initiated into Oregon Gamma chapter of Pi Beta Phi this fall. Saturday afternoon Mrs. Wal lace attended a tea for which members of Alpha chapter of Pi ,Beta Phi were hostesses in hon or of their mothers. ; Whjle in Seattle Mrs. Wallace was regis tered at the oiympic hotel. ! Bosses Guests At Breakfast The Marine room of the hotel Marion was the scene Tuesday morning .. of the Salem Credit Women's Breakfast club annual . Bosses' breakfast. The presi dent, Mrs. Louise Jones, pre sided over the meeting. Mrs. Betty Ouderkirk gave the welcome and Mr. E. H. Bingen heimer the response. Mrs. Bes sie Kayser, junior past presi , .dent, introduced each member ,nd in tu-n introduced her guest. During the breakfast Miss Pat Anderson played incidental pi ,no music and also a feature . number "Easter Parade." Guest speaker was Mr. H. M. Randall, ;director of . the state .board of parole and probation, - introduced by Mr. W. W. Chad wick. He had as his topic "The .Oregon Parole System." On the tables were cases of daffodils surrounded by .violets with-sprays of huckleberry plac .ed'down the center. Each place was marked j by a program in ' the shape of i"Humpty Dumpty" A yellow rosebud buttonaire was placed for each man and a cor ', sage, for each lady.; Miss Lil lian Kayser and Mrs. Elsa Al ien were in charge of the table decorations and the program. The tables were deco rated with shamrocks and spring flowers. Forty-three were pres ent, including several out-of-town visitors. . ; Supt. and Mrs. M. B. Clatter buck of the Oregon School for the Deaf were guests. Mr. Thom as A: Ulmer served as tpastmas ter. Mrs. IJay Hummel opened the program with the song, "God Bless America." Mr. Clat terbuck gave a talk a"bout Pri vate Rodger Young who was a sergeant but wanted to be a pri vate because of - being hard-of-hearing and who lost his life in fighting in New Georgia of the Solomons; The next talk was by Mr. Maurice Werner about some amusing incidents in connection with the association.
