ANGEL The ML Angel Federal Credit Union held its an nual membership meeting- and elections at the Legion Memorial hall Thursday night, January 11. Directors elected - were P. T. Gores, Walter Kruse and William 'Blem, the former two reelected ; and Blem 'chosen to replace Ed Hanken..- credit committee, Clem Butsch and John T. Bauman. re elected; supervisory committee, t Joseph Faulhaber, re-elected, and Joseph Wavra. Frank Amsn was elected pres lident at the directors: meeting ' which followed the general meet ing; ' Frank Hettwer, vice-presi- ' dent; P. F.' Gores, treasurer, and Walter Kruse, secretary and ad vertising manager. ( The treasurer's report showed . the organization has 1 members and is steadily increasing its sta bility and influence, in spite of I I the times, which are decidedly against credit unions The general - opinion of the members is that by building up a good, sound credit : union during these years of flush : money, it will be a ready refuge when leaner years arrive and the , necessity of borrowing becomes a . fact Operating costs have been reduced to about a third of those of the former year, the report showed. ! Brown enlisted in July, 1942. , f FALLS CITT Lloyd Ander son, seaman 1c, has been home on a 23-day leave. Anderson was an armed guard and assigned to a Dutch freighter. He is the son of Mrs. Olga ; Anderson near the Candy Kitchen on Dallas-Falls City highway. His brother, Earl Anderson, and family of Valsetz has been visiting their mother the past month also. Tansey, route six, Salem, from the Philippines, where he had parti cipated in an invasion! that he was Well and safe. The letter, written on Christmas day, tells of air raids almost every night which required him tQ roll; out of bed, and go to his nearby, foxhole.
