Released - First event on the Willamette calendar was the navy unit Com pany C stag party Friday night j and the sorority formal prefer ence dinners Saturday night fol lowed by pledge services at the chapter houses on Sunday. Wed nesday night a student body dance will complete the social ac tivities for the month, , r Beta Chi sorority will hold a " fireside December 3. The Alpha Phi Alpha sorority. Kappa and Frederickson halls will have in formal parties the next day. Cap and Gown members will hold a . scholarship tea December 7. Big gest event of the month is the student body formal which will be held December 11. Two events, a Beta Chi date dinner and "a Delta Phi open house have been scheduled for ' December 12. December 17 is the l date for firesides given by Beta Chi and. Alpha Phi Alpha soror ities. Delta Tau Gamma members will have a party the next night.' Also set for the same evening . are a Delta Phi house dance and a band and orchestra party. Sororities will celebrtae;New Year's day with an. inter-soror-." for the Alpha Phi Alpha pledge and senior class parties. Dorm- itory formal are scheduled for the 15th, the day after the Alpha Phi Alpha and Delta Phi . fire- i sides. Beta Chi members will hold open house January 18. January 22 has been reserved for the drama department. A student body party sponsored by the freshmen will be given Jan- -uary 29. The YWCA will hold a ; party February 5 which is the : first social event in that month. The junior class will honor the graduating seniors on February 12 at the last scheduled social function of the semester. Visitor Saturdir ia state high way commission offices here was Cpl. Tech. Vivian Fryer, former employe of the commission. Now serving in the women's army corps, she is stationed at Camp Belvoir, Va., an engineers' camp. The Navy Mother club will meet at the YWCA Tuesday night at 8 o'clock. This will be a bus iness and testimonial meeting. STAYTON The golden wed ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Highberger will be ob served Sunday with an open house at the Fred Albus home from 2:30 until S o'clock'. During this time many more glrLt have been added to Camp Fire and Blue Bird groups in Rim, Mrs.' Paul Morse is now, chair man of extension on the local ' board and will secure a person from each school district to help extend membership. ; Efforts are now being made to. set up good sponsorship for each Croup. At the last meeting of Englewood PTA they agreed to sponsor nine groups of Camp Fire Girls and Blue Birds .eight of which are organized in the school. The ninth group is com posed 'of former Englewood girls now in Parrish junior high. The last of the training course for recreational leadership being sponsored by the local Camp Fire Guardian's association has been postponed until December 1, at 7:30 p. m. at the Presbyterian church. Group Meetings' The Okiciyapi Camp Fire met for the first time this year at the home of their guardians, Mrs. Vida Bowers. They decided on the next Torch Bearers rank they are going to take. Games also were played and, cookies eaten. ' . The Wicaco Camp Fire girls of the Englewood school elected the following officers: Roberta Kempel, president, Carol Fuhr, vice-president; Margaret Bown, secretary; Marilyn Thompson, treasurer; Donna Satter, scribe. , The Itanyan Camp Fire group met at the Leslie school Thurs day afternoon, with their presi dent, Beverly Gustafson in charge. Plans were discussed for the skit to be given at the party December 3, for all junior high groups., The next meeting will be in West Salem at the home of their guardian, Mrs. F. X. Ho erth.
