The chief handicap at the present time is lack of help to harvest and prepare the fresh corn for shipment Last year 46 carloads of fresh corn were shipped to California, and this year the total is expected to be considerably more. Starting this week, the shipments will be at the rate of one to two carloads la day through the season, which is expected to last at least a month. Last year the season last- I ed into November.
