There are four more volunteers left for the February call to the local board before any of the registrants will be drafted. Mayor Problem Is Settled, Hubbard HUBBARD The question of who will be the mayor of Hub bard was settled by the council Friday night. Mayor elect, C. M. Crittenden, refused to qualify, preferring to serve as councilman. The council selected Garfield Vo get to act as mayor. Voget has been mayor- of Hubbard, and lacked Just one vote of receiving as many votes as Crittenden at the election. The senior play, "Bolts and Nuts," that was postponed be cause of the flu will be staged L January 10. . Listed among the marriage li- censes at Oregon City was the license of Stuart E. Brooks Townsend Meeting Changed BROOKS The Townsend club meeting which was to have been Thursday night has been post poned until Friday night as the school faculty has set that night to present the Christmas program which was delayed because of sickness. Lebanon Couple Observe 50tlr Wedding Anniv.ersary; Four Witnesses'Pre'sent LEBANON Francis Tracy McTimmonds- and' Sarah Edna Barney, who were married December 30, 1890, near Dallas at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lam bert McTlmmonds, pioneers of 1842, recently observed their 50th wedding anniversary. Four guests at that wedding were present when the date was celebrated last week in Soda Springs halL They were Homer McTlmmonds and Mrs. Ethel Kau, brother and sister of the bridegroom and Mrs. Matilda Humphrey of Marshfleld, sister of the bride and Mrs. Tilda Frans of Hoskins. The seven children are all liv ing and with 33 grandchildren and four great grandchildren were present at the anniversary party. Two sons and one daughter. Earl and Dewey McTlmmonds and Ver da Ray live in Lebanon, Elmer in Sheridan and Channcey in Down ey, Calif. One daughter, Doris Meyrick, lives in Oregon City and another, Manilla Hassett in Brookinxs. Mr. and Mrs. McTlmmonds be gan their married life near the family donation land claim in Mc Tlmmonds valley , near Dallas. Mrs. Sorenson spent her early youth on her parents', G. P. Lar sen, farm on Paradise road, and her marriage; to the Rev. Walde mar Sorenson took place there. This place is now occupied by the O. J. Solbergs. Rev. Sorenson is now pastor to a congregation at Turtle Lake. Mrs. Sorenson spent seven weeks at a hospital Just prior to her death. Besides the widower, five sons and two daughters survive Among them are Rev. Arthur Sorenson at Elbow Lake, Minn. William, a student at the Luther an Theological Seminary at St Paul; Synove, a nurse; Marglt, a teacher: two brothers, Alex and Joseph Larsen, formerly of here and of Silverton, but now living at Galata, Mon. Mrs. Adolph Haugen of Silver ton is a niece, and Harold Toft of Silverton is a nephew, as is Walter Toft of Salem.
