S 7th anni versary June 18. When the wood en dox was opened It was found to contain one each of the 57 varieties of -products sold by the H. J. Heins company. t Presentation of the gift was made by P. M.r CraTen, district representative of the Heins com pany. The 57 varieties assortment la given by the company to all couples they know of who are celebrating their- 67th anniver saries. Crash at Albany Fatal for Youth Ronald Carson Long, 20, Is Killed as -Auto Sideswipes Bridge ALBANY Ronald Oarson Long, 30, son of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Long of . Albany, was killed instantly, about 2 o'clock Thursday morning, as he was re turning to Albany from a trip to Salem when a tire on the car which he was driving blew out on Pennywlnkle bridge in east Albany. The car was thrown to the oq posite side of the highway, hit ting the cement railing along the bridge. Long was thrown IB feet, suffering a crushed chest and fractured skull. -; Coroner t?E. C. ; Fisher .was called to the scene. Roy Gustaff son, driver of an oil truck, was the only eye witness. Gustaffson said he was approaching the bridge, driving north, and slowed down In order that his truck and the approaching car, coming from the north, would not have to pass on the bridge. : Ronald Carson Long was born at Scio, May 11, 1913, making his home in Albany for the past 15 years. After attending local schools he attended Oregon State two years, and the past year had been a student at the university. He was a member of the ONG and ROTC. of Chi Phi fraternity of Oregon State, and of the Chris tian church. Surviving are his parents and and three great! grandchildren. "We spend most of our time answering letters from our chil dren," Mr. Field said yesterday. "But now we'll be spending a lot of time trying to use up all these," he added, indicating the rows of Jars and cans of Heins products spread over the porch of his home. A large number vsere present Valuation Asked For Utility Firm Officials of the Tillamook county peoples utility district con ferred here Thursday with State Utilities Commissioner Ormond R. Bean with relation to obtaining a fair valuation on the property of the 'Mountain States . Power company which operates in Tilla mook eounty. The delegation later, called at the executive department.' - -Commissioner' Bean" said he would cooperate with the Tilla mook county men in obtaining the valuation. The district was organised in 1933 and comprises approximately all of Tillamook county. It has an assessed valuation of 36,500,000. M. H. McGulre is consulting en gineer. John Shields, president of the district board of directors, said the purpose of obtaining the valu ation was to consider purchase of the power company's plant.
