Iii Early Morning Fire at Stone Rantk Day After Family Leaves " ; For tNew Home LYONS. Oct. 5 The farm house at The Stone Ranch, six miles-east vof Lyons, burned early Friday morning. The Lawson fam ily who had lived there for a time left for California Thursday. How the fire started is not known. It was beyond control" when dis covered. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Palmer who havo lived here since January 1, left for Island county, Washing ton, last week. The Palmers ex to remain in Washington where her parents live. ' Mr. and Mrs. Gabett and, two sons from South Dakota, hare leased the house on the L. C. Trask farm and plan to stay here for the winter. The meetings will be held each Friday. John Doubleday -Passes,' Albany ALBANY. Oct. 5. John Doub leday, 98, diedat-his home in Al bany Friday. Funeral services will be held from the Interdenom inational church and the body will be shipped to Rexford, Kansas, for burial. John Doubleday was born in Woolwick, England, July 16. 183S - and came to the United States in 1871. In England Mr. Doubleday was in the grocery store business but after coming to the United States he engaged in farming, first in Iowa and later in Kansas. Af ter coming to Albany In 1318, he, retired from active work. Four children survive:, Henry Doubleday and Mrs. Mary Kelsey of Albany, William G. Doubleday of Sheldon, Kansas, and Mrs. Lydia Meeks of Fairfield, Idaho.
