Con siderable interest is being shown in : the annual pet parade which will be held Saturday (under aus pices of the American Legion post and the auxiliary. Dr. A. J. Mc Cannel is general chairman of the "parade arrangements. A total of 35 divisions have been arranged with; three prizes in each division. Contrary to earl ier reports, the prizes offered to outside schools for the;test entry in the parade is to be given by a group of professional men of the city. Tworin-One Egg Yields Another Of Normal Size HOLLTWOOD, May 21. A Rhode Island Red hen from one of the flock In this district laid an egg which measured 9 inches around the long way and 7 V inches ' around the other way. In vestigation showed that the egg contained a normal sized egg inside the large egg. This is the second such ejrg that Mrs. P. T. Turner of tills district has received from her flock within the last month. Bourbon Campaign Fund Report Made Receipts of the state democra tic central committee exceeded its expenditures in the Oregon pri mary campaign by approximately $100, a statement filed with the secretary of state revealed Thurs day. The expenditure was listed at 11932. The largest item of expense was the salary and expenses of Frank Tierney, secretary to the commit tee. His salary was listed at $600 and expenses $135. Contributions to the committee were made chiefly by state and county officials and employes, the itemized report ahowed. Ben F. Dorrls, candidate for re publican national committeeman, spent $902.75 ! Curb on Santiam Loggers Is Asked Moving to preserve the road side beauty along the North San tiam highway right-of-way, the federal bureau of public roads has addressed a letter to the Marion county court asking the court to declare war on all logging opera tors who are occupying the right-of-way with cables and logging equipment! or otherwise marring the trees. Numerous trees have been cut and other! severe damage done along the roadside on the high way since: renewed logging activ ity has developed in the North Santiam area, the bureau is in formed.
