McElroy home on Wednesday night Was the scene of one of the season's gayest events, when the Mauna Loa club, the Silver String orchestra and the men's Plectrum Guitar band, all under the direction of Mrs. Priscllla Meisinger, got together for their annual Christmas party. IThe house was festive with holly, mistletoe, red tapers; and a brilliantly lighted Christmas tree. The orchestra members all brought their instruments, and af ter a bit of music, the evening was spent in cards, ping-pong contests and other games, climax ed by the distribution, by Santa Clans, of the gifts from the heav ily laden tree. Refreshments were served at a late hour. In addition to the orchestra members, the following special guests' were present: Miss Lacey; Miss Williams, Miss Doris Whit aker, Miss Helen McElroy, C. G. McElroy. Billy Utley and Frank Crawford. ; .:. Rickreall Mrs; O. W. Kellogg entertained the members of the card club at the, home of Mrs. W. W. Rowell Saturday evening. . (Scores that have been kept since beginning of the playing in September were added, high score for ladies was won by Mrs. Rowell, and for men went to O. W. Kellogg. Friday night at St. Joseph's au ditorium the St. Joseph's club, composed of the younger members of i the parish, are sponsoring a turkey card party and the one act play. rThe Valiant." - The feature of the card party will . be turkeys given away , as prises. Both bridge and S 0 0 will be played. - The, one act drama "The Val iant," will be presented after the card players are finished. The cast of the play Is as follows: Warden Holt, Fred RIedy; Father Daly, Don Mills; James Dyke, Howard Amend, Jasephlne Paris, Venita LaBranche; Dan, a Jailor, Panl Keber and the attendant, Ed Talbot.
