KLETZINO Movement of United States citizens to Canada has steadily declined from about 20,000 in 1929 to only 13,000 in 1933. How ever, during the eight years from 1924 to 1932, inclusive, a total of 262,000 natural born and 13,000 naturalized Canadian, citizens re turned to their own country from the United States. O Manv Shetland ponies come from the Shetland (or Zetland) islands, an archipelago off north era Scotland, where this diminu tive breed of horses originated and from which they received their name. Others come from breeding farms which have been established in other parts of Scotland and in England. They have been success fully raised" in America also. Ideal Shetlands, according to stud book rating, are 10 hands high, al though many mature animals are nine hands or less. Highland pon ies, raised extensively in the Shet land islands, are slightly larger than the Shetlands. O Belief that tdtnatoes will ripen better if not exposed to the hottest rays of the sun has been confirm ed by experiment. Tomatoes, it was found, get tho reddest when ripened in a temperature which does not exceed 86 degree Fahren- hoi.
