Ore., June 20 (AP) Unchanged butter prices at Portland but slightly weaker tone for lower grades at San Francisco, were reported for the past week today by the USDA bu reau of agricultural economics co operating- with the O. S. C. exten son service. The larger spread between top and medium quality may work to the detriment of the better grades. The general tone of the market. even at San Francisco, was not unduly weak as the trade foresees a comparatively light production for the Pacific coast and satisfac tory movement of butter into con sumption. The United States storage re port released June 12 showed holdings slightly in excess of trade estimates. The into-storage movement last week was slightly greater than for the same period a year ago. General reports indicate that production is near its peak. June 20 (AP) Indications the heat wave north west had been broken tumbled grain values down about 2 cents a bushel today compared with ear lier top figures. Upturns before the tumble took place carried wheat to within a fraction of the season's higb price record, with corn, oats and rye all excelling the record. Con tributing to the transient strength of cereals was the fact that New York quoted British exchange at the highest point since suspension of the gold standard.
