Doak, Society Editor Fraternities Will Be Hosts for Parties Saturday light fraternities of "Willamette nalTersIty will enter tain with annual semester parties, parties which are greatly antic I . pated by the nnireraity socially . minded. The most formal of the three parties will be that for which Sig ma Tan fraternity will entertain. This will be a formal banqnet at Masonic temple beginning at 8:00 o'clock.' It is expected that coyers will bo placed for 60 guests. Both Kappa Gamma Rho and Alpha Psi Delta fraternities will entertain informally. Kappa Gam ma Rho will entertain at the fra ternity house. The program for the erening is in charge of En gene Smith. Alpha Pel Delta will entertain with a line party at one of the lo cal theatres and this will be fol lowed by a few informal hours at the fraternity home. Former Club Member Is Complimented Mrs. Walter Nelson of Tilla mook, formerly a Salem resident, was complimented with a surprise birthday shower Wednesday even ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Taylor by members of the G. K. P. club of which she was formerly a member. Present in compliment to Mrs. Nelson were Mr. Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Itaffety, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harms, Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Pickens, Mr. and Mrs. J. Dessert Luncheon Attractive Event An attractive affair in club cir cles Wednesday was the dessert luncheon for which Mrs. George Hug and Mrs. T. T. MacKensle were hostesses at the Marlon ho tel. The afternoon hours following luncheon were spent playing con tract and winning scores were held by Mrs. Fred Stump and Mrs. Earl Cooley. Special guests for the afternoon in addition to club members were Mrs. Fred Stump, Mrs. Romeo Goulet, Mrs. L. F. Allen of Wal lowa, and Mrs. Lyle Bartholomew. Miss Helen Richardson was hostess at her home Tuesday evening for the initiation service of the Encinitis club. Reports of the past year's work showed considerable accomplish ment, including addition of 16 members and nearly $500 to the Guild's treasury. Delegates Named For National Meet Mrs. W. H. Byrd attended the Wednesday meeting of the Daugh ters of Patriots and Founders which met at the home of Mrs. John O'Donnell In Portland. Delegates were elected to the national council which will he held in Washington, D. C, the week of April It following the regular conrention of the Daugh ters of the American Rerolution. Mrs. Byrd was elected as one of the delegates and others include Mrs. J. B. Montgomery, Mrs. Her bert Hale, Mrs. James Huddleson. Mrs. Ray Stearns and Mrs. John O'Donnell. The next meeting of the group ! wni t neia in March and will be a no-host luncheon in Portland. At this time officers will be elected.
