Although the potato market ia fundamentally sound, demand for earlot holdings has beeu so slow during the past three or four weeks, that several operators are disposing of part of their hold ings, at considerably less than was formerly hoped for. Storage holdings in California, and at Portland are fairly liberal, and of ferings of local potaeoes continue adequate for Portland s consump tion; consequently, the potato market Is barely steady, although prices are unchanged.
