'( AP) Mystery surroandlng the hirth and parentage of little Georgiana Jane Schaefer, claimed as their daughter both by Mrs. George P. gefcaefer of Portland and Misa dernldine Watson of Los Angeles, Aeeaeaed today with tbe entrance ef a third woman into the ease Dellmore Liessard, attorney for nlrs. Schaefer, declared today that It was not Mr. Schaefer who took charge of a baby alleged to haTe been abandoned In a Los Angeles hotel last January by Hiss Wat son. Lespard said the woman was Mrs. Schaefert twin sister, Lanra Reynolds, an intimate friend of Miss Watson. The attorney de clared Miss Reynolds represented lierself to Los Angeles aathorlties s Mrs. George F. Schaefer of Portland, and Miss Watson's aunt. Meanwhile, Lessard said, he Is prepared to resist any effort of Ijos Angelea'erMcials to gala pos session of the Infant Mrs. Schaefer calls Georgiana Jane and claims was born in Portland maternity hospital. April 11 (AP) A 6W?cial committee head ed by Senator Johnson, republi can, California, was ordered to-! day by the senate to inquire into the campaign expenditures of sen Rtorial candidates in this year's contests. The senate moved quickly after the resolution of Senator Korris, republican, Nebraska, proposing the inquiry, was received from the elections committee. The far reaching resolution was approv ed without debate. Vice President Curtis within a ?hort time nam ed the committee. Tbe four who will serve with Senator Johnson are Senators Goldsborouh, Maryland and Pat tegrson, Missouri, republicans; and Pittman, Nevada and Wagner or New York, democrats. Complaints have been received from Illinois, Pennsylvania and Nebraska. The goal of the endowment is Jl, 000. 000, JtSO.000 of which must be raised by the university, while the remaining CSO.OQO will come from the general education board of the Rockefeller Founda tion. Tbe administration has been working for seven years in an ef fort to complete its quota and less than six months remain for the university to profit by the Rocke feller fund. It is understood that no extension of the time will be granted after October 1 ot this year. The drive to put the fund across extends even to the students who may be asked to contribute toward the endowment.
