Smith John Alonzo Smith died at his residence, 4 25 North Church -street. June 30, at the age of 87 years. He was the father of Mrs L. W. Drays. Mrs. Edward Mc carty and Roy Smith of Kellogg, Idaho, Mrs. L. E. Warner of Spo kane. D. C. Smith of Gates and Mrs. Frank Cramer of Salem. He was a pioneer of Oregon and a Civil War veteran, having served as corporal in Co. A, 3rd regiment of Missouri cavalry. Remains are in charge of the Salem mortuary.
