Clements, gave the beautiful pink and gold flowers which filled a long basket on the; tea table. Tall green candles were used In crystal holders. I The first prise of the afternoon via won by Mrs. Roy- Simmons;; the second by Mrs. Robert Smith of Independence,' and the third by Mrs. Winard H.Wirtsj, ' A group of Rainbow girls served the refreshments. The numbers of the- glee club are further supplemented! by vocal solos, negro spiritual duets, read ings and college songs and stunts. In addition Joe' Nee, Willamette's "singing Scotchxnan." win present a group of Scotch numbers in cos tume. The Willamette University Glee club has recently completed an ex ceptionally' successful, two-week trip into eastern and southern Ore gon and Idaho. The club has at tracted much favorable comment tor the fineness of Its work. Professor E. W; Hobson is the conductor of the club. Simpson was celebrated in a delightful man ner at their home on April 2. The rooms were beautifully decorated with a profusion of .spring flowers, among them a basket of carnations sent by a brother, F. Hackersmith of Seattle, who was unable to be present.
