Business Committee of Missionary Society Is Entertained Mrsv J. Willard De Yoe was hos tess Wednesday afternoon at an important and interesting meeting of the business committee of the Woman's Home Missionary society of the Oregon conference. Cooked Food Sale The Salem Heights Community club will sponsor a cooked food sale all day Saturday at the S. P. ticket office at 184 North Liberty street. The proceeds will go to ward the furnishing of the new kitchen at the community club house. Christian Endeavor Societies Entertain Basketball Team at Banquet One of the most delightful social events ever held in the Court Street Church of Christ took place Wednesday evening, March 23, at 6:45 o'clock when the Christian Endeavor societies sponsored a I ,f v ... three course banquet, honoring the j I ry 3. One corner held a large basket filled with yellow daffodils and green fern. The long table was graced with a lovely bouquet of white narcissus and fern, plus green and, yellow tapers. The organ held candles matching. Five girls dressetC in white, with tiny yellow be-frilhed aprons and one boy, al so wearing white with yellow apron, served the dinner. E. W. Cooley, president of the Church Basketball league, was the toastmajster. H. M. Burtchet, team coach, and Byron Cooley, captain, and members of the team respond ed to toasts. Rev. R. L. Putnam also expressed his gratitude to the beys. Those- assisting were the Misses Helen Kreugher, Ella Smith. Ruth Hawk. Mary Kreugher. Faith Gil mer and Darrell Walker.
