Magee one of the best known men in the northern part of the county, was laid to rest last Wednesday In the Scotts Mills cemetery. Hev. Moore, an old friend of -Mr Magee's, having charge of the services. Mr. Magee and his family came from . Bloomf ield. Mo., his birth place 28 ears ago and bought the Dr. Minthorn place at Crooked Finger where Herbert Hoover at one time made his home with his uncle. Drr Minthorn. Here the Magees lived for sev eral years, later moving to Scotts Mills' where -most, of the family still reside.'. , Mr. Magee was known for his honesty: and Willingness to help those who were unfortunate. He was a supporter of good schools, having ihelped to established the Scotts Mills high school and later when it was lost, helping to vote It back again. He was also interested in the - buildin of good roads. In the passing of H. Y. Magee the family have lost a good hus band and father and Scotts Mills a good neighbor.
