Parrish junior high basketball team handed, a lopsid ed score to the St. Paul boys last night by a victory of 50 to 9 on the local floor.; Blaco for Parrish was high point man, making 18 of the total score. MEETSDEFEAT Salem High Secures Victory By Score of 21 to 6 in a Slow Game Here Keeping up the old fight the Sa lem high quintet took the Dallas team into camp last night by a score of 2 1 to 6. Dallas started the fireworks by making the first basket, but that was Just a begin ning for the Salem team opened up and : annexed several points. Things milled along without much dash until' the last of the first half when the game ended with Salem holding the score 13 to 5. I At the end of the third quarter Salem's subs went in and the Dal las team failed to do so. t The Dallas team made their last point when they annexed a free throw. The game was not as speedy as some of them played on the local floor this year, but it showed that the Dallas team was coming along. They received some valuable train ing last night, and will be more formidable contenders. Salem failed to convert on the long shots that were given to them, and as a result the score was not as large as it; might have been. Loom in Near Future The Independence business men and the Salem business men are to tangle in volley ball and indoor basetball contests in the near fu ture, it is declared. To Be Staged at YMCA Soon National tournament of the bas ketball throw, -staged under the auspices of the International KI wanis club, is to be held in Salem from February 2 to 15 at the YMCA. Several teams are to be entered here, it is declared.
