The city camping grounds is a place of revelry, of good, cheer and conteatednees. Since the establish ment of the grounds by the Salem Commercial club and in which time hundreds of campers hare come and gone, a report Is yet to be turned In by the superintendent of grounds, T. G. Albert, about grouchy and dls contented people. Every section of the country has been represented at the camp, camp ers of every fortune, some -wealthy brokers and oil magnates, some orange grove owners of the suh kist south, or just plain, sturdy "country Jakes" of Washington, Idaho and eastern Oregon have, now and then, registered their represen tatives on the automobile camping grounds register. Never have they come with their chins resting on their chests; Instead, they have come buoyant, hopeful and manifestly alive. If they are not prosperous, they have had prosperous attitudes; if poor, they come in "tin lizzies"; if without property, they buy and make Salem their home. ' Every evening the camp is a din ning echo of happy, frolicking chil dren, giving vent to their playful moods.
