Apply studio; 521 Court street. Pioneer's Funeral Held The funeral of Mrs. Rebecca Kays, who died at the home of her daugh ter, Mrs. H. C. Wells near Buena Vista, Saturday. June 14 was held at that place Monday and the services were conducted by the Reverend Turnldge of Jefferson with burial in the Buena Vista cemetery. ..Mrs. Kays was a pioneer of 1852. settling near Buena Vista when she with her husband first came to Oregon. She was 86 years of age and Was sur vived by two of her six children, Mrs H. C. Wells and H. C. Harvey Wells Tells How Ore gon Was Put on Map at Indianapolis Meeting Insurance Commissioner Harvey Wells, has returned from Indianapo lis, where he was sent In advance representing the ShrLiera of Ore gon. The member of (he Oregon Shrine had one of the dining rooms in the Clay'pool hotel for their headquaters, which was artistically decorated wUh palms, ferns, and eighty-two baskets of roses. M. Mr. Wells stated that they wo'ild start dancing as early as nine o clock in. the morning and would close about twelve midnight; when the crowd would go out on th? street and lobby of the hotel and contlaue for some time . One of the greatest attractions at the Oregon headquarters was the fa mous loganbe:Ty Juice, known as Phex.- Keeping account of the num ber of gallons ud and n't e of the glasses, and knowing the amount each glass would contain, it was fig ured that over 211.-000 drinks were served.
