Ground was broken hers last week for the new three-story hospital next to the city halL, Cost of the structure U estimated at 1 55,000. 4 i ' XJ-t: Bank of Commerce Opns Business in Fireproof Building Oregon CJty.'July The new build ing of the Bankof Commerce, one of the finest structures in Clackamas county, was formally opened Thursday and the entire structure was thrown open to the public for inspectibn. ; The building, -which -embraces the most modern of, banking-, and, office accom modations, has been under construction for more than a year, the original plans being completed in February of 1921. - The occupation of the new struc ture marka- a signal point In the de velopment of the . Sank of 1 Commerce, which opened for - business -on:; Decem ber 16, 1915. :At that time, and until its move into- the new building, at Sev enth and Main streets,-it bad quarters in the Hogg- building- at Eighth and Main streets, across from the court house. At the time of its organisation the bank's capital was $50,000.
