The highway to North Beach point from Portland and Seattle Tby way of Chehalis and Booth Bead, baa been formally opened. A number of autos have arrived at the beach over this root. ' The ferry connecting: Astoria and Mc Gowaa made trips until a late hour Sunday evening1. Each trip the ferry was filled and many waiting for the next trip.' The dance hall walls were covered with newspapers and meats all came costumed. The new Ocean Park-Nahcotta walk is finished and paid for. The community bonfires are proving a grand success. Miss Adelaide Begg gave a party at the Taylor hotel to a few of her friends on Wednesday evening. The evening was spent in dancing and games.1 . "House of Mirth" is the August home of Mr. and Mrs. M. Many such groups have been passing through Mansanlta during the past week, some on their way from Cannon beach, others on their way from the beaches to the south, to Short Sand beach, oa tours of investigation and pleasure. ..
