Grade Teachers Fix ; $1400 as Minimum, i $2300 as Maximum The Portland Grade Teachers' asso ciation, at its meeting Wednesday, favored a minimum salary of 11400 and a maximum of S230O for all grade teach- ;',eri. The present minimum is $1200. ' Expression of the grade teachers was the result of the recent suggestion by the : school board that the teachers work out their own salary schedule and submit It I. to the board. The Federated Teachers" - council, to which the matter was at first referred, blew up when the principals withdrew because they were represented by two members only. The council was : .largely dominated by grade teachers. The principals-have likewise made their own salary recommendations. The school board meets this afternoon.
