Before the Seattle strike he was Mayor Hanson of Seattle. After that strike he was a national figure. The seed of Bolshevism had been planted at Seattle. ? There were many' there who saw the beginning of the "new revolu tion" in ' the calling of v the strike, , its fructification in success. When' business and industry were .palsied by the walk out, the eyes of the nation were turned anxiously toward - Seattle and - its city government Ole Hanson stepped into the breach. He stood for law and order, for equality and equal justice between man and man. He prevailed.
